Extreme weather such as droughts, cyclones, wildfires and heat waves are becoming more frequent and intense around the world, as climate change continues to cause a lot of damage. The damage is huge. People are losing their homes, livelihoods and their lives. Last month was the hottest June on record globally, according to the EU's climate monitoring service, and even higher temperatures are expected in July and August due to the strengthening El Nino weather pattern. The heat has been driven by a combination of the El Nino and greenhouse gas emissions responsible for global warming.
