Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Australians can now be constructive contributors in the Pacific when it comes to climate change. We committed prior to the election to having an energy policy ... and weve got one with a net zero by 2050 target with a 43 per cent reduction by 2030, Mr Albanese said during Question Time on Wednesday. "With a safeguard mechanism system in place to drive down the emissions of the top emitters in an orderly way so that business can have certainty to invest. We committed to reengaging with the world on climate change. And the visit from our friend, the Prime Minister of Fiji, is another reminder that instead of being in the naughty corner as Australia was, in the Pacific, in our region when it comes to climate change, we are now constructive contributors when it comes to climate change.
