Fires to be seen ‘more and more’ with ‘accelerating’ climate change
Labor MP Julian Hill believes Victorias fires will be seen more and more as climate change is accelerating. Three bushfires continue to burn in Victorias west and central regions on Wednesday. Almost 500,000 were without electricity on Tuesday night, and over 250,000 remain without power on Wednesday. The scenes we saw yesterday was a toxic combination, if you like, of storms of heatwaves and bushfires, Mr Hill told Sky News Australia. But those photos of those huge high-voltage powerline towers knocked down are stunning ... they show the scale of the destruction of the storms. Unfortunately, this is exactly what scientists have been predicting with accelerating climate change that we will see more and more of these combinations of weather events. Read More Our Apps
