Bill for climate change university passes first reading in Taraba Assembly

The Taraba State House of Assembly has approved the first reading of a bill proposing the establishment of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture and Climate Change Action. The bill, jointly sponsored by three lawmakers from Sardauna local government council of the state, seeks to create a specialized institution focused on tropical agriculture and climate action. The members behind the bill include the former Speaker of the House, who is also the incumbent member representing Mbamnga constituency, Abel Peter Diah. Others are the member representing Nguroje constituency, Nelson C. Len, and Abdulazeez S. TItong. The proposed university, according to the members, is aimed at harnessing the regions rich agricultural potential, promoting sustainable development, and offering increased educational and economic opportunities for local residents.
