Sky News contributor Nicholas Reece says "climate change" is the reason Australia's bushfires "are getting worse". Australias record on climate change has been criticised in the latest Climate Change Performance Index, which is designed to track a nation's response to climate change. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also recently called for calm as debate rages about the link between the bushfire crisis and climate change. The fires are getting worse and the data is there to prove that, Mr Reece told Sky News host Paul Murray. 99 per cent of New South Wales is in drought and when you have circumstances where its as dry as that... the fires start, he said. Mr Reece was also concerned about the ferocity of the bushfires so early into the Australian summer. "We havent got to the worst part of the fire season yet". Image: Getty Read More Our Apps
