PM to give climate change address ahead of COP26
Prime Minister Scott Morrison will announce new climate change targets for Australia with a potential new 2030 or 2035 emissions target plus a target of net zero emissions by 2050, if not earlier, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. It comes as the climate COP26 conference is due to commence in weeks. Mr Clennell said the Prime Minister has not totally ruled out going but it looks in doubt. "But the PM has promised a climate change announcement ahead of that COP26 conference," Mr Clennell said. "Once that announcement occurs, suddenly the ball will be in Labor's court. They are likely to say that Morrison has not gone far enough with his targets and the climate change debate heats up again ahead of a federal election." Read More Our Apps
