Climate change will be the fight for the ‘soul of the Labor Party’
Sky News host Peta Credlin says although numerous ALP MPs have urged the party to end its antagonism towards coal, she is instinctively sceptical when it comes to Labor, climate change, and coal. Last month, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese claimed he would put partisan politics aside to try and end the so called climate wars. It has been reported over the weekend that there is a growing number of Labor MPs who are urging the opposition leader to adopt the governments 2030 emissions target. Some MPs are even suggesting the party will never win office if it does not adopt a similar climate policy. Is this a genuine change of heart; has Labor finally been mugged by political and economic reality? Ms Credlin said. Or is it just a strategy to help make Labor competitive at the next election. Much more than just the policy issue itself, its is a battle for the soul of the Labor movement; and the evidence says the green-Left have the numbers. Image: News Corp Australia Read More Our Apps
