UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will meet with US President Joe Biden this week with climate change and the escalating situation in Afghanistan expected to be at the top of the agenda. Before the discussions on the topics can begin, in the coming days, French President Emmanuel Macron and Mr Biden will talk on the phone at the request of Washington with the US President seeking to defuse the diplomatic crisis with France following the AUKUS partnership announcement. France is furious at Australia after Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Mr Johnson, and Mr Biden signed a trilateral security partnership with Australia to acquire nuclear-powered submarines and scrapping the French contract for diesel-powered submarines.
