Resources Minister Matt Canavan says politicians will often shift focus to the climate change boogeyman to take pressure off "their own potential culpability". It comes as New South Wales Energy and Environment Minister Matt Kean broke ranks and has linked this years bushfire season to climate change. Mr Kean told Sky News extreme weather events are as a result of climate change and we need to be taking steps to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Mr Canavan said there is a lot of hysteria out there, over the issue of climate change and bushfires. "It doesnt seem theres not a natural disaster in this country that doesnt have a 'green' politician latching on to it for their political purposes," he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. Mr Canavan said he doesn't think there is a state government in the county which "can change the temperature of the globe". Image: News Corp Australia Read More Our Apps
