Sky News host Chris Kenny says Australia's education system is crumbling before our very eyes due to facts, basics and knowledge being devalued in favour of political fashion, environmental campaigns and progressive social causes. Results from an international student assessment revealed Australian students were falling behind other developed countries in reading, maths, and science. With consistent declines over an 18-year period occurring despite an extra $20 billion being pumped into education, Mr Kenny said the distractions here are so obvious. When our kids lose time in class for climate action strikes, and their parents and teachers applaud them, why would we be surprised that results fall? he said.
