Mum shouts at Just Stop Oil activists blocking son's bus to school but is told 'think of dolphins'
A furious mother ranted at protesters blocking the road as her son and other children tried to get to school - before she was told to 'think about the dolphins that are dying'. Activists were back slow marching through the streets of yet again this morning - being monitored by police who walked alongside them around the Camden area. An angry mother pointing to her watch told activists her son was 'missing out' as they blocked the road. 'You're parents! Come on guys,' she ranted. 'Move and let the bus go! We got kids on the bus. F**** sake'. 'Come on guys. There's kids on the bus that need to go to school - you're parents aren't you?' 'My son's going to miss an appointment, he's missing it.' Footage from the incident shows a protester ask the mother if she wants to speak on the side of the road before another member of the public, who appears to support JSO, intervenes and simply tells her to 'think about the dolphins that are dying'. But this seemed to infuriate the mother even more as she said: 'What's animals? Are they human? Please!' The man turns around and says 'this is why you need to protest, because no one cares about animals'. As activists leisurely marched, queues of traffic - including big trucks - could be seen stuck behind them. In other footage, an angry passerby tells an activist they are stopping youngsters from getting to exams. 'Get some lives and get some jobs like normal human beings,' he says. In live feed footage seen by MailOnline, protesters were heard telling police they were marching up through Camden to Chalk Farm. One protester, speaking through the megaphone, said: 'I'm here because I know this way of resisting works. 'The police will tell us to get on the pavement, but...civil rights were not won on the pavement, that's why we are stood on the road today. Because we know this is what works, this is how we can tackle the climate crisis.' Another protester, a father-of-three, said he was there because he believed the government would listen. A female activist, whose voice became audibly emotional as she spoke, said they 'have to do this for their children'. An angry member of the public who appeared to disagree with their method of protesting shouted at them 'this won't stop the oil' as he stormed past. But activists were not deterred. One, 29-year-old Harvey from Portsmouth said: 'We're here because the government is licensing new fossil fuels - these fossil fuels are killing people right now.' Addressing the public, Just Stop Oil activist Sophie, 30, said the protest is 'the scariest thing' she has done. 'I don't want to be here,' she said. 'This is the scariest thing I've ever done but I am terrified. I'm just an ordinary person.' She said she marched because she wants to have children. She said: 'But how can I bring a child into this world when the Government are not safeguarding our future?' Yesterday pr Motorists beeped their horns at the JSO protesters - but it did not seem to deter the group who appeared unfazed and carried on strolling while holding their huge banners. Police were seen at the scene, negotiating with demonstrators to get out of the road - but they refused to move.
