Bolsonaro Says The Government Will Offer The Entire Population Vaccine against Covid
On the day that the state of Sao Paulo released its vaccination schedule against Covid-19, President Jair Bolsonaro said on social media that the federal government would offer immunizations to the entire population, "free of charge and not mandatory," he said. "In case of certification by Anvisa (scientific guidelines and legal precepts), the Brazilian government will offer the vaccine to the entire population free of charge and not mandatory," wrote the president on Facebook. "According to the Ministry of Economy, there will be plenty of resources for everyone to be served. Health and Economy hand in hand for life," he concluded. Bolsonaro is fighting a political battle with the governor of Sao Paulo, Joao Doria (PSDB), over the vaccine against Covid-19. The federal government bets its chips on the vaccine under development by the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) in partnership with AstraZeneca. After receiving inquiries after the release of data on the vaccine's effectiveness, the consortium admitted errors and had to conduct further studies.
