US President Donald Trump has visited California, calling for stronger forest management as wildfires decimate the country's west coast. President Trump was briefed on the situation during a meeting with Governor Gavin Newsom and fire officials. Nearly 5,000 buildings have been destroyed and 20 people killed as more than 7,000 fires burned across the state. Governor Newsom conceded more work needed to be done by his government while thanking the President for supporting the state. Mr Trump will go on to visit Washington state and Oregon in the coming days with Democratic governors in all three states - including California - insisting the fires were caused by climate change.
