University dismissal ‘goes beyond climate change’
Gideon Rozner, the director of policy at the Institute of Public Affairs, says universities are using taxpayer dollars and taxpayer resources to shut down dissenting views on climate change. Speaking with Sky News host Andrew Bolt, Mr Rozner said the recent dismissal of academic Peter Ridd by his employer James Cook University goes beyond just a debate about the Great Barrier Reef, it goes beyond just climate change. This goes to the heart of what our universities should stand for, said Mr Rozier, who continued to note Australia's teaching instructions should be public squares of open leaning and intellectual enquiry. His comments came after the university appealed the Federal Circuit Court decision ruling that Mr Ridds sacking was unlawful. Image: News Corp Australia Read More Our Apps
